My "write-a-lot"
"If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot."
This quote is from Stephen King’s book, On Writing. Part memoir and part Virgil-esque guidebook, its advice has rattled around in my mind since the weekend I read it. Despite my unending love of writing and creating, I don’t do it everyday, I don’t finish most of the stories I start and I almost never share them with anyone.
So, welcome to my “write a-lot”. I won’t promise daily entries or weekly series. My only promise is that this is a compilation of my things, here to both to showcase my work and prove to myself that I can create.
This is where I keep articles, short stories, poems, and manuscripts. Half-drafted diary entries and opinion pieces. Alongside film projects, photos, and marketing work.
My name’s Sara and I’m a news producer, photographer, and writer.
Experience
I’ve worked with local Tampa based clients as a producer and writer on multiple project including social media content, music video productions, and promotional material. I’ve written scripts, press releases, blog posts/articles and email copy.
Photography is something I do when I can. I’ve shot weddings, events and portraits (both professional and artistic).
My passion lies in narrative writing, whether that’s fiction or non-fiction I have a strong belief that all writing should be narrative. From the lowly finances report and email to the grand novel. Good writing is based on characters and story.
